University Catering Policies and Information
Meal Costs and Services: All meal prices include staff, china, glassware, linens, and table décor (tables must be provided by the group for any event outside of the Student Center). The meal price also includes room rental when event is held in the Taggart Student Center. A 18% gratuity or $25.00 charge, whichever is greater, will be added to all events that require staff. Meal prices for children ages 4-10 are 30% less than adult meals. Children under the age of 3 are free, unless a special meal is provided for them. Prices are subject to change without notice. University Catering reserves the right to change service style based on the location of the event.
Delivery Costs:
Deliver and Set: includes tablecloth, décor, paper products, delivery and pick-up and is subject to a 12% or $15.00 charge, whichever is greater.
Delivery Only: includes the food only (no paper products or service ware) in disposable containers and is subject to 10% or $10.00 charge, whichever is greater.
Will Call: you pick up the food only (no paper products or service ware) at no additional cost.
Off Campus Catering: For off campus catering, there may be an additional service charge based on distance traveled and size of party.
Ordering Timeline and Cancellations: In order to insure that University Catering has the necessary staff and supplies, we recommend that you book your event at least two weeks in advance. We understand that occasionally events must be scheduled on shorter notice and we will do our best to accommodate you. Any booking made, with less than three days notice, may be subject to a 25% surcharge. The menu selection and projected count should be given by the Wednesday prior to the week of the event. Final guarantee counts are required three working days prior to the event. Increases in counts given less than three working days prior to the event may be accommodated, but may be subject to a 25% surcharge on the additional meals. Cancellations received less than three working days prior to the event may be subject to a cancellation fee of 30%.
Payment: The bill is figured using the guaranteed count or actual number served including surcharges, whichever is greater.
Any off campus accounts may be required to pay a $200 non-refundable down payment at time of booking. Final payment of your event is due within 30 days of receiving your bill. Utah State Tax of 7.55% will be added unless a tax ID number is given or you are charging the event to a University Purchasing card. Any account over 30 days past due will be charged a 3% monthly service charge.
Equipment: University Catering does not rent or loan out any equipment.
Food Policies: All food in the Taggart Student Center and adjoining areas must be provided by University Catering. For exceptions please see TSC Policy #500. Food ordered ala carte’ (i.e. 3 dz. Cookies @ $6.00/dz.) is the property of the buyer. Food ordered by the person (i.e. $10.50 / person) is the property of University Catering, removal of leftover food or beverages from the event is prohibited.
Sundays and Holidays: University Catering is normally closed on Sundays and Holidays. Certain events may be accommodated upon approval of the Dining Services Director.
